APP BASED BUSINESSES:
The Innovator’s needs for a digital platform are most demanding, and it’s probably the reason digital businesses are the most valuable to investors in the world right now. Companies like Amazon, Facebook, AirBnB, Alibaba, Youtube, Tiktok. All these companies have explosives valuations and all these businesses are actually accessed by way of an app. Tiktok is now worth $250 billion.
There are probably more than 10,000 new apps published everyday from around the world but not all become explosive like TikTok. Why? I’d like to hear your thoughts in the comments.
AFRICA’S DIGITAL BUSINESS ECOSYSTEM:
There are now more than 400 million smartphones in Africa. Within 18 months there will be more Africans who will have smartphones in their hands than there are Europeans or Americans.
That means they are connected to the internet , all Apps work only on smartphones and other internet enabled devices.
( 400 MILLION IS ONE HECK OF A BIG MARKET SIZE ) If you create a product ( an app enabled service ] that captures just 25 million customers, it is already valued at a billion dollars. There is nothing else out there that can create wealth at that pace, even if you got all your country’s goldmines and oil fields.
